My BlogHer11′ Highlights and Photos

I few highlights and photos from my trip to San Diego to participate in my first blog conference. Thank you to Brookstone for sponsoring the trip. I look forward to my year as a member of the Brookstone Review Crew. So everyone I’m sure knows what conference I attended correct? Just a little get together of about 3,500 bloggers in San Diego called…

Despite the big draw of SWAG it was definitely not my favorite part of the conference. I mentioned the other day my star struck moment with Bob Harper from the Biggest Loser and though it topped my list there were some other great moments for me at BlogHer.

I really enjoyed a handful of special connections I made and conversations I had with both companies and bloggers. Having recently worked with Chuck E Cheese I made a point to stop by the Chuck E. Cheese booth and speak with the crew there and meet Clayton who I’ve been working with. I made some cotton candy, skipped the guitar hero contest (wished Buddy was there, as he would have ROCKED at it) and had a chance to get in their ticketblaster and win my kiddos some tickets. If you have never been in one of these machines they are quite fun. I hope to be working with them again in the future. I’m a huge fan of Chuck E Cheese!

I really enjoyed speaking with Melissa at the Chase BluePrint booth. It was nice on their part to know that I already knew who they were due to a promotion they had recently with some fellow bloggers.  She explained the program which I think is an excellent tool and quite innovative when it comes to planning and budgeting your spending habits and debt. I hope to speak with her in the future and possibly work with Chase myself. Oh yeah and I got the best hand massage ever.

I had a very nice talk with a representative at the Yahoo Shine booth and I’m very interested in researching their blogger program a little further. It was definitely a new avenue I may love to per sue, and it is interesting to see such large companies taking interest in our growing profession.

I stopped by the PopSalad both for one specific reason. That would be to make my daughter jealous….well kind of jealous. It is hard to be jealous of cardboard.

The meeting with HTC was a meeting I set up to hopefully bring back a phone for my husband (yes it was all about the SWAG). What I brought back was much more. I was very impressed with how HTC set up meetings with bloggers to get their opinions and thoughts on what they want out of a phone. The representatives were fun and open minded to all our crazy ideas about a indestructible, light weight, beautiful phone (hey gotta include style), and ideas that it should be able to do everything but clean the kitchen sink (or maybe that too).  What an innovative idea to listen to your customers it really made an impression upon me and my image of HTC has increased tremendously.  It was also great to meet Jessa who I have been conversing with for some time.

I can’t leave out one of my favorites and of course great companies to work with Disney! I was hoping to meet up with Marshall when my husband and I made the trip to LA to watch the Biggest Loser Finale, however time did permit such a meeting. I was excited to find out that in addition to getting the chance to see a pre-screening of The Help (which you will definitely need tissues should you chose to see it, and you should) , I would get the chance to meet Marshall finally as well.  So a shout out to my favorite Disney rep it was awesome to meet you and I love working with and am excited about future opportunities.

Of course a blogging conference wouldn’t be a blogging conference without bloggers. I saw some old friends and new faces. Thankfully most of them recognized me because I’m terrible with matching blogs/profile pics with the real deal. Traveling to my conference on my own with no roomies, I was lucky enough to hook up with some great bloggers.  Thank you to Mary from Couponers United and Carlee from At Home Moma who I spent a lot of time with hopping from event to event.

For those that missed the conference and are thinking about it next year just thought I would pass on the information regarding its location. If you haven’t heard it is back in New York City this year.  I would love to go next year as well but this is one place I will not visit without my husband. So if we are lucky you may see us both there or neither of us at all!
